Privacy notice

This notice explains what KinPlot ("we", "us") collects when you use this website and what we do with it. KinPlot runs this site and is responsible for your data. Questions: [email protected].

What we collect

• Your G25 coordinates and the name you give them, used only to calculate distances and draw your maps. A population map uses only the reference population you pick, so no genetic data of yours is involved.
• If you use simulated G25: your raw DNA file is read only inside your browser and is never uploaded. Your browser sends us 64 summary numbers computed from it; we turn these into your simulated coordinates and store the result with your order. The summary numbers can't be used to reconstruct your DNA data.
• Your email address, which you enter at Stripe's checkout. Stripe uses it to email your receipt, which includes your private results link. We keep it with your order so we can help you if something goes wrong and handle refunds.
• Payment details are entered directly with Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Basic server logs (IP address, time, page requested), kept for a short time for security and abuse prevention.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

To provide what you paid for (performance of a contract). G25 coordinates are derived from DNA and may count as genetic data, so we also ask for your explicit consent to process them when you submit the order form. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to delete your order.

How long we keep it

Your coordinates, maps and private link are deleted automatically 30 days after payment. Unpaid orders are deleted after 2 days. Stripe keeps payment records as required by law; see Stripe's privacy policy.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, which processes payments.
• Fly.io, which hosts the website. Our servers are in Frankfurt, Germany.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or research, or share your coordinates with anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it before the 30 days are up. Email [email protected] from the address you used at checkout. We reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.

Children

This service is not intended for anyone under 18.

If we change this notice, we'll update the date below. Material changes will be shown on the home page.
